Putting it all in Perspective

8.5 x 11 cut paper collage

So much going on here past two weeks. My 8 yr. old niece
Nicole had made the All Star team in fast pitch softball.
Their team was second in their 8U division and so they
qualified for the junior Olympics. The California State
Games were held here this past weekend in San Diego at
Qualcomm Stadium. It was a wonderful event for all the kids
and parents. Lots of fun activities interspersed with many
tournament games.

After everyone left of course I managed to catch a cold.
My days at work have been busy, can't seem to catch up.
In trying to keep everything in perspective, I'm managing
to find great pleasure by just relaxing and letting go as I
attempt to find my way back to good health.

I've been working on a few collages, another polymer mosaic
and some jewelry pieces which I hope to post soon.

Now I must venture off to see what all my talented friends
have been up to.

Thought for the day:
"Sometimes in life the glass seems half empty, sometimes
it seems half full, and sometimes the glass is twice as large
as it needs to be."

My best to all of you. I hope you are all enjoying the season.

The chalet has a old world German feeling that reminds me of glass blown Christmas ornaments - for me it is a "warm nostalgic" feeling within a cold diorama.

Congrats to your neice and I hope you feel better soon.

Your words always inspire. I so enjoy your posts.

My best from a moving train, riding backwards into the eastern dwindling daylight sky.

YOur work is lovely. I am a sometime artist. Too critical of my work , and now find that photography affords me an opportunity to create through my lens. A means to an end. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Merci!

Also that sun or Christ star, night in day and day in night.

I deleted all my artist links hoping to just modify one....oooh well.

Wonderful collage! This should be hanging in offices and companies everywhere. Right in front of the boss's office.

Great quote, too. And so true. Sometimes I think, it should just be enough that I have a glass.

I wonder if this young man is coming back home and waiting a few more seconds in anticipation before embracing the old man...or is he looking at an image of himself, past or future. No matter, the composition is way excellent and the contrast staggering!

Miss ya lots!

If he is yodeling at those people at the chalet, they are going to be stone deaf from the noise of it. Are they scared of him climbing up at them like that? They don't seem to be running around in a panic. Maybe he will be blinded by the bright sun at the last minute and make a vital mistake and slip. This collage belongs in a fairytale book with a really good and scary story to go with it.

This is a lovely collage!!

Life sure does get in the way of life sometimes ... I love the idea that the glass gets bigger ..

We have had plumbing crises for over a week here.

I agree with red-tin-heart. Clever and wise to boot. Thankyou for your comment, I am in a good space now. Walking before running and all of that.

Love this collage, very crisp and alpine like. I don't think I have seen you working in such a colour scheme before..or this style. It's good to play:)
